Blue flickering light

laid in bed until 3am _______ ___ _________ _ ___.
these are strange city nights lately.
too hot tonight,
the fans do little to dry the sweat on my brow. cigarettes hang upward from barely conscious lips.
I watch them burn, lighting one after the other.
Smoke lingers oppressively over me in room lit only by a TV on mute.
the things that used to make sense, don't anymore, and I'm not even drugged up.
I think I hear raindrops.
can you remind me who you're supposed to be tonight?
