"Scott forces us into the heart of the cybernetic state�the urban area as circled back upon itself in a closed feedback loop. Scott, of course, anticipated emerging cyberpunk where street level was like the underworld and where humanity is subjected to urban overload. Scott also anticipated cyberspace where "space" is constituted by information technologies.
